Workshop on SIM Development for the Offering of Postgraduate ODL Programs at UniMAP

This workshop, organized by the Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS), was held from 18 to 20 August 2025 at The Light Hotel, Penang.

The intensive program brought together lecturers from the Faculty of Business Management (FPK) and the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technology (FKTK), with guidance from facilitators from LEAD, the Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS), and AMC, supported by DMDC.

To ensure the smooth development of UniMAP’s pilot Postgraduate ODL programs, CGS played a key role in coordinating this workshop. Together with LEAD and AMC, CGS worked on:
-Preparing a SIM development framework aligned with MQA standards
-Guiding lecturers in producing high-quality self-instructional teaching materials
-Ensuring continuity between UniMAP’s vision and ODL best practices

Among the main activities of the workshop were:
The development of Self-Instructional Materials (SIM) for three Postgraduate ODL programs that will soon be offered by UniMAP.

This workshop reflects UniMAP’s commitment to expanding access to higher education through high-quality, impactful digital platforms.

Special thanks to all lecturers and facilitators for their contributions, cooperation, and dedication throughout the program. May this initiative serve as a stepping stone towards the successful implementation of excellent ODL programs at UniMAP!
