On 3 April 2023, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) held discussions with Walailak University (Thailand), Universitas Brawijaya, and Universitas Negeri Malang (Indonesia) to establish collaboration in several key areas. The focus of the meeting was on research collaboration, joint publications, joint supervision, dual degree programs, and staff/student mobility.

The partnership aims to strengthen academic ties by encouraging joint research projects and co-authored publications. The universities also explored opportunities for joint supervision of postgraduate students and the creation of dual degree programs, providing students with qualifications from both institutions.

Additionally, the collaboration includes staff and student mobility programs, offering participants the chance to experience different academic environments and cultures, enriching their academic and professional development.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing academic cooperation between these institutions, promoting knowledge sharing, and providing greater opportunities for students and staff.
